School of Clinical Medicine (Guangming) is a Grade A Tertiary General Hospital founded in 1952. It comprises three campuses — the Main Campus, East Campus and West Campus — alongside 56 community health service institutions. The hospital covers a land area of approximately 116,000 square meters with a building floor area of around 463,000 square meters. It employs more than 3,500 staff members and has 1,600 authorized inpatient beds. Equipped with advanced medical facilities worth a total of RMB 1.92 billion, including 3.0T MRI, DSA, dual-source spiral CT, electronic gastrointestinal endoscopy, and high-end four-dimensional color ultrasound, the hospital runs 47 clinical and medical technology departments. The annual outpatient and emergency volume exceeds 4 million visits, among which over 2 million are delivered by community health service centers, ranking the hospital consistently among the top tertiary general hospitals in Shenzhen. The annual number of discharged patients reaches more than 70,000. Adhering to the philosophy of revitalizing the hospital through science, education and innovation, the institution endeavors to build a comprehensive technological innovation system and talent training system. It hosts one national clinical trial base for drugs and medical devices; two translational research bases, namely the Clinical Research and Translational Base of the National High-performance Medical Devices Innovation Center and the Clinical Medical Center of Shenzhen Institute of Synthetic Biology Innovation; three scientific and educational innovation platforms, including the Medical Experimental Center, Institute of Translational Medicine, and Institute for the Inheritance and Development of Traditional Chinese Medicine; four medical talent training bases, namely the Guangdong Provincial Postdoctoral Innovation Practice Base, Guangdong Provincial Teaching Hospital, Jinan University Medical Education Base, and Shenzhen Postdoctoral Innovation Practice Base. The hospital undertakes clinical internship training for medical students. At present, it has 6 in-station postdoctoral researchers, 22 doctoral students, 25 master’s students, and over 260 medical interns.
