Luo Weimin, Chief Physician, Associate Professor and Master’s Supervisor, is currently pursuing his doctoral degree at Xi’an Jiaotong University and was an academic visiting scholar at Fondazione Toscana Hospital in Italy. He now serves as Director of the Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery.

Prof. Luo has engaged in clinical work for more than 20 years at a top-tier tertiary teaching hospital ranked among the top ten prefecture-level hospitals nationwide, performing over 300 Grade IV surgeries annually with extensive surgical experience. He specializes in minimally invasive thoracoscopic surgery for lung cancer, as well as the precise diagnosis and surgical management of pulmonary ground-glass nodules and small pulmonary nodules, including surgical resection for complex and multiple pulmonary nodules. He is proficient in pulmonary segmentectomy, subsegmentectomy and sub-subsegmentectomy, and masters advanced complex segmental resection techniques such as split segmentectomy and combined subsegmentectomy, which maximally preserve healthy lung tissue. His expertise also covers minimally invasive sleeve resection for central lung cancer following neoadjuvant therapy; non-thoracotomy esophageal surgery via thoracoscopy and inflatable mediastinoscopy; totally intracorporeal intrathoracic anastomosis for cardiac cancer; Da Vinci robotic surgery; and surgical treatment for locally advanced esophageal cancer after neoadjuvant therapy. He performs multi-approach surgery for complex mediastinal tumors and surgical intervention for palmar hyperhidrosis, and has pioneered tubeless anesthesia techniques for complex pulmonary segmentectomy and subsegmentectomy. He has repeatedly conducted nationwide live surgical demonstrations on segmentectomy and subsegmentectomy for pulmonary nodules, as well as totally thoracoscopic and mediastinoscopic procedures for esophageal cancer.

Prof. Luo has published more than 20 academic papers at home and abroad, including 9 SCI-indexed articles. He has presided over 2 provincial research projects and 2 municipal projects, and has been awarded one Second Prize of Provincial Scientific and Technological Progress, one First Prize of Municipal Scientific and Technological Progress, and three Third Prizes of Municipal Scientific and Technological Progress.
