Guided by the emerging medical discipline initiative, the Future Medical Center of Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology focuses on four key research directions: aerospace clinical medicine, longevity medicine and cell therapy, plasma medicine, and laser medicine. Committed to establishing an integrated collaborative development system encompassing industry, academia, research, healthcare and education, the Center promotes in-depth integration of medical innovation and clinical practice, and builds a forward-looking highland for medical research and healthcare development.

The Center boasts a high-caliber team led by distinguished clinical experts. Professor Gu Ying, Member of the CAS, serves as the Director, and Professor Xu Zhiming acts as the Executive Director. It brings together renowned professors with profound academic and clinical attainments in psychiatry, nephrology and other disciplines, providing solid support for the rapid translational application of medical research findings into clinical practice.

The Center’s development layout centers on two core priorities. First, it strengthens clinical medical education and research platforms, advances the coordinated development of medicine, education and research relying on affiliated hospitals. Through the joint appointment mechanism between the university and its affiliated hospitals, the Center deeply integrates clinical practice with disciplinary research, and cultivates clinical medical talents with scientific literacy. Second, it establishes a research and experimental center for the development of the Future Space Hospital. Focusing on the frontiers of aerospace medicine, the Center addresses major challenges including the long-term health maintenance of astronauts in orbit and life support for interstellar migration. It constructs ground-based simulated microgravity research platforms, carries out key projects such as the development of experimental spacecraft for space hospitals, and collaborates with top aerospace medical institutions at home and abroad to reserve foundational theories and core technologies for the development of human space health undertakings.

Furthermore, the Center continuously advances innovation and translational research in the medical field. It jointly builds an industrial incubation base with the Luohu District Investment Promotion Bureau to facilitate the industrialization of clinical research achievements. In collaboration with the Luohu District Health Bureau, it establishes the Luohu Medical Center to jointly build an international cooperation platform covering cutting-edge fields such as brain health.
