Prof. Dai has been selected as one of Elsevier Highly Cited Chinese Researchers for five consecutive years from 2020 to 2024, listed among the world’s top scientists for three consecutive years, and included in the Stanford University Top 2% Scientists Worldwide Ranking. He ranks among the top 1.36% of global scholars in the Scholar GPS database. Prof. Dai was recognized as one of the Top 10 Most Active Nephrology Scholars in China in 2021 and one of the Top 5 in 2022. He served as Chairman of the 20th World Congress of Nephrologists held in London, UK, in 2019. Over the past five years, he has chaired 5 major domestic and international academic conferences and delivered keynote speeches at 16 academic events. He also serves as an editorial board member of multiple international academic journals.
Honors and Awards:
Prof. Dai has obtained a total of 34 scientific research achievement awards at all levels. Among them are 20 provincial and ministerial-level accolades, including the Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award (2017), the Personage Award of the China Invention and Innovation Award (2023), the First Prize of the China Invention Award (2024), and the First Prize of the Science and Technology Award issued by the China Council for the Promotion of Science and Technology Industrialization (2025). He has been awarded 20 honors as the first completer of research projects.
Research Achievements:
As the principal investigator, Prof. Dai has undertaken and completed 30 research projects at all levels, including programs supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has published a total of 956 academic papers in domestic and international journals, among which 352 are indexed by the Science Citation Index (SCI), and 250 SCI papers have been published as the first author or corresponding author.
Prof. Dai has authored or participated in compiling 11 academic monographs, including 5 overseas publications. He has been granted 37 authorized invention patents. He was ranked among the Top 20 (9th nationally) in the number of authorized invention patents in the field of nephrology across China in 2022, and won the First Prize in the AI + Energy Security Special Competition of the 2025 National General Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Application Competition. Prof. Dai has secured over 20 million RMB in funds for research achievement transformation. A number of his research outcomes have been applied in clinical practice and successfully industrialized.
