Zhongqun Zhan, Ph.D. in Medical, serves as Director of the Department of Cardiology. Recruited to Guangming District as a leading medical talent in 2016, he has led the Department of Cardiology to be accredited as a District Key Discipline for four consecutive terms. He also serves as an editorial board member for several academic journals and Vice Chairman of multiple cardiovascular-related professional committees under the Shenzhen Medical Doctor Association.

Dr. Zhan specializes in interventional therapy for coronary heart disease, radiofrequency ablation for arrhythmia, and permanent pacemaker implantation, with extensive experience in the management of complex coronary artery lesions and complicated arrhythmias. As the first author, he has published more than 80 papers in domestic and international core journals, including 50 SCI-indexed articles. He has promoted the clinical value of electrocardiography in the auxiliary diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases nationwide, and popularized a simplified ablation procedure for outflow tract ventricular premature beats, which has been adopted and studied by numerous tertiary hospitals. Dr. Zhan was invited to participate in drafting the international expert consensus on the prognostic value of electrocardiography in pulmonary embolism. He has contributed to one English monograph published by Elsevier, served as chief editor of the book Acute Coronary Syndrome: Electrocardiography and Clinical Practice, and chief translator of Marriott’s Practical Electrocardiography. Dr. Zhan was selected into the discipline leader training program of the Shenzhen Healthcare Elite Talent Project in 2023. In 2024, he was awarded the Shenzhen May 1st Labor Medal, and the Zhan Zhongqun Model Worker and Craftsperson Innovation Studio was officially recognized at the municipal level.
