
Zhongming Dai, Ph.D. in Medical, Chief Physician and Associate Professor, serves as the Person-in-Charge of the Western Gastroenterology Division.
Dr. Dai specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of common acute and chronic digestive diseases, critical and intractable gastrointestinal disorders, benign and malignant tumors of the digestive tract, biliary tract and pancreatic duct, as well as the clinical application of advanced digestive endoscopic techniques. His scope of practice covers the management of acute and chronic hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, hepatic tumors, functional gastrointestinal disorders, and gastroesophageal reflux disease. His expertise encompasses a full spectrum of endoscopic procedures, including:endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) for early gastrointestinal cancers;endoscopic resection of benign gastrointestinal tumors via ESD and endoscopic full-thickness resection (EFR); peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) for achalasia;gastrointestinal stent implantation;endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) for bile duct stones and biliary stent placement for biliary tumors;endoscopic hemostasis for gastrointestinal bleeding; NOTES-based endoscopic gallbladder-preserving lithotomy and polypectomy;transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS); sclerotherapy and ligation for esophageal and gastric varices;sclerotherapy and ligation for internal hemorrhoids and rectal mucosal prolapse;endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) for gastrointestinal polyps;as well as endoscopic ultrasound and small intestinal endoscopy examinations.
Dr. Dai has published more than 10 SCI-indexed papers. He once presided over one scientific and technological research project under the Military Eleventh Five-Year Plan, participated in one National Natural Science Foundation project, and was awarded one Second Prize and one Third Prize of Provincial and Ministerial-level Scientific and Technological Progress Awards.
