
Dan Xiong holds a Ph.D. from Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center and completed her postdoctoral research at Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. She is a Chief Technologist, as well as Supervisor for master’s students and postdoctoral researchers. Dr. Xiong has presided over 8 research projects at and above the municipal level, including the General Program and Youth Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. As first or corresponding author, she has published 25 SCI papers in journals such as PNAS and JNCI, with over 60 academic papers in total in both Chinese and English. She has been granted 3 invention patents, and participated in compiling 2 academic monographs as well as formulating 4 group standards.
Her research is mainly focused on the oncogenic mechanism of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) and molecular diagnosis of tumors. Her research directions include: 1) Molecular mechanisms of EBV infection in nasopharyngeal epithelial cells and its correlation with the occurrence and progression of nasopharyngeal carcinoma; 2) Screening, identification and clinical application of tumor biomarkers; 3) Application and translational research of molecular technologies in oncology and prenatal diagnosis.
