深圳理工大学（筹）合成生物学院杰出教授，中国科学院深圳先进技术研究院、深圳合成院农业与植物合成生物学中心研究员。国家级人才。曾任美国马里兰大学终身正教授，国际知名发育生物学研究专家，草莓分子遗传和果实发育领域的领军人。为野生草莓建立了多方面分子遗传研究的工具和组学资源，并在草莓果实发育、果实多样性、生长素合成与信号传导在果实和种子发育机制、草莓无性繁殖机制、等方向做了系统性的基础研究贡献。共发表104篇SCI 文章，包括 Nature、Genes & Dev、Nature Communication, Plant Cell、PNAS等杂志。担任著名国际植物期刊 The Plant Journal、Frontiers in Plant Science: Plant Evolution and Development等的编辑。
研究领域：草莓果实发育和无性繁殖的分子机制；合成生物学对草莓植株，开花，果实性状改造和在垂直农业的应用；植物底盘细胞应用于高效蛋白和小分子的生产。
