The Future Space Hospital aims to enhance health protection forastronauts and human health levels overall, expand on-orbit medical health monitoring and life support capabilities, focus on advanced disease prevention and treatment, break barriers in aerospace, medicine, biology, and other fields, conduct R&D incutting-edge areas of space life and health protection, and prepare for space health support for non-astronaut space travel and interstellar exploration.
Under the agreement, both parties will leverage their respective strengths in cutting-edge fields such as medical devices, biomedicine, innovative medical technologies, and aerospace science and technology to jointly build theFuture Space Hospital. They will collaborate onverification of advanced space medical equipment and instruments, R&D of innovative medical technologies and drugs as well as life support systems, accumulation and experimentation of key technologies for deep-space hospitals and interstellar migration, seize opportunities such as manned lunar missions and interstellar resource exploration, and build a comprehensive space service and support system. At the same time, both parties will engage in in-depth academic cooperation.
On the same day, theSUAT-Shanghai Engineering Center for Microsatellites Future Space Hospital R&D and Experimental Center was officially inaugurated. It serves as a platform for both parties to jointly conduct research and translation of space health protection technologies, as well as a platform for multidisciplinary integration in developing the Future Space Hospital. Relying on this platform, both parties will jointly develop space health care vessels, apply for research projects, and promote achievement translation.
Previously, SUAT has engaged in extensive cooperation with multiple national research institutions on joint graduate training. This signing elevates the university's collaboration with national research institutions to new heights inscientific research and platform construction.
