Recently, Stanford University and the Elsevier Data Repository jointly released the seventh edition of the 2024 World's Top 2% Scientists list.A total of 33 faculty and staff from Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology (SUAT) were selected for the list.
The World's Top 2% Scientists list is based on the Scopus database, selecting the top 2% of scientists worldwide from nearly 7 million scientists in two dimensions: "Career-long Scientific Impact" and "Single Recent Year Scientific Impact." The list covers 22 fields and 174 subfields, providing a metric for scientists' long-term research performance that can more objectively and truly reflect scientists' influence. Among them, the career-long scientific impact list statistics the comprehensive performance during scientists' careers, while the single recent year scientific impact list focuses more on academic influence in the previous year. Being selected for the list means the scholar has high global influence in their research field.
