Jointly Seeking New Cooperation Opportunities! Visit from the Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education (STINT)

On February 14,Andreas Göthenberg, Executive Director of the Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education (STINT), and his delegation visited Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology (SUAT).

Building on the visit by STINT China Representative Erik Forsberg in August 2024,the two sides further discussed cooperation possibilities, such as collaboration on the STINT International Postdoc Program, opening more paths for SUAT students to connect with international high-quality educational resources.

Andreas and his delegation gained an in-depth understanding of SUAT's high-quality development achievements and latest progress in international cooperation, highly praising the university's solid educational foundation and future development potential.

During the meeting, Provost Zhao Wei proposed the idea of hosting the "Greater Bay Area Universities—Swedish Universities Presidents International Roundtable Forum Summit," hoping to use SUAT as a window for Swedish universities to understand Greater Bay Area universities and conduct in-depth discussions around key areas such as academic exchanges, scientific research cooperation, talent cultivation, talent introduction, project nurturing, and industrial innovation.

Responsible comrades from relevant Guangming District government departments pointed out that Guangming District is Shenzhen's future science and innovation center, attaching great importance to international development, andwill provide strong support for future cooperation between SUAT and Swedish universities.

Andreas stated that upon returning to Sweden, he will actively promote exchanges and cooperation between SUAT and top Swedish universities to create a win-win situation.

It is reported that theSwedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education (STINT)was established by the Swedish government in 1994 to promote the internationalization of Swedish higher education and research. As an important knowledge resource platform in Sweden, STINT continuously promotes innovation and development in internationalization and provides funding support for various international projects, particularly focusing on investments in international cooperation projects for young researchers and faculty. From 1994 to 2022, STINT's internationalization projects invested a total of approximately 2 billion Swedish kronor (about 13.6 billion RMB).
